October 23, 2019 — Construction will start early in 2020 on a 61,000-square-foot Health Sciences Research Center at the Florida Institute of Technology. Featuring cutting-edge technologies, the $18-million facility with double the size of Florida Tech’s undergraduate biomedical engineering program.
The facility will feature such advanced technologies as augmented and virtual-dissection tables and atomic force microscopes. The new facility will accommodate 300 full-time, on-campus students in biomedical engineering, and 250 premedical students.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects demand for biomedical engineers in industry, research facilities, government agencies, hospitals and universities.
