Port Canaveral STATE OF THE PORT

November 18, 2019 – Port Canaveral, on Florida’s Space Coast–the closest port to Orlando and the second busiest cruise port in the world–announced 2019 overall revenues and gave exciting updates on cruise traveler upgrades and other infrastructure projects.

Port Director and CEO, Capt. John Murray presented the State of the Port for 2019 on November 13. The results are impressive across the board.

• Total Revenue for Port Canaveral, as compared to 2018 revenues, is up in FY 2019 by 6% at $110M.
• Cruise Revenue, which is a significant overall contributor, is up 5% at $81.9M.

The report notes 4.6 million multi-day cruise passenger movements in 2019, the continuing relationships with major cruise lines and the construction of the largest cruise terminal project ever at Port Canaveral (CT3). CT3 will be completed by May 2020 in time for the arrival of Carnival Cruise Line’s largest ship ever, the Mardi Gras, which will be homeported at Port Canaveral.

Also of significance to the evolving cruise profile is the upcoming $50 million in upgrades to two terminals (CT8 and CT10) due to increasing interest by multiple cruise lines and specifically to accommodate the signing of a new 20-year Disney Cruise Line agreement, bringing the addition of a 3rd Disney ship to port. Two of the new Disney ships of the three currently under construction will be homeported at Port Canaveral.

Port Canaveral is just 25 minutes from Viera, Florida.
